Right Angle Gearboxes
Publication date:2025/7/29 23:10:15 popularity: [content:visits]
The H series right angle gearbox is a transmission device designed specifically for pump equipment, which can convert the horizontal shaft power of horizontal prime movers (such as diesel engines and electric motors) into vertical shaft output. It is widely used in vertical pump systems such as deep well pumps, axial flow pumps, and diagonal flow pumps. It has a compact structure, high efficiency, and can directly withstand axial forces, simplifying the pump body structure.
1、 Detailed parameters
Basic technical parameters of H-series right angle gearbox
·Input speed range: 245-3460 rpm, suitable for various prime movers such as electric motors, internal combustion engines, and gas turbines.
·Output speed range: 490-3460 rpm, supporting speed increase (1:1-1:2) and speed decrease (4:1-11:10) transmission.
·Power range: 0-1520 HP (approximately 0-1133 kW), covering the load requirements of small to large pumps.
·Maximum axial thrust: 125000 N, suitable for vertical load transmission of vertical pump shafts.
·Speed ratio: 1:1 to 1:2
·Speed reduction ratio: 4:1 to 11:10
·Output torque: up to 345000 N · m (depending on the model)
·Transmission ratio range: 1.25-450 (depending on specific model configuration)
Structural characteristics of H-series right angle gearbox
·Transmission type: Parallel shaft helical gear reducer (H series).
·Output format:
·Solid shaft (S): flat key connection, with low installation accuracy requirements.
·Hollow shaft (H): With a locking disc (D) or spline (F), it can be directly fitted onto the load shaft to reduce coupling costs.
·Installation form:
·Flange (B5/B14): Directly connected to the motor, saving space and suitable for high-precision transmission.
·Swing base (M): compensates for axial displacement and is suitable for belt conveyor drive devices.
Performance parameters of H-series right angle gearbox
·Transmission efficiency: ≥ 95% (helical gear design reduces friction loss).
·Noise level: ≤ 75 dB (low noise design, suitable for indoor environment).
·Protection level: IP55 (dustproof and waterproof, suitable for harsh working conditions).
2、 Specific installation method
1. Preparation before installation
·On site cleaning: Ensure that the installation area is free of dust, oil stains, and debris, and that the flatness error of the foundation plane is ≤ 0.1 mm/m (to prevent uneven bearing of the shaft caused by the tilting of the gearbox).
·Basic inspection:
·Strength: The foundation needs to withstand the total weight of the gearbox and supporting equipment (such as motors) to avoid sinking after long-term operation.
·Reserved space: An operating space of ≥ 500 mm should be reserved around the gearbox, away from high temperature, humidity, and corrosive environments.
·Open box inspection:
·Check whether the model and specifications are consistent with the design, and inspect the appearance of the box (without cracks or deformations) and the flange surface (without scratches or burrs).
·Confirm that all attachments are complete (oil level gauge, vent cap, drain plug, dust cover, etc.).
2. Installation steps
·Lifting positioning:
·Use specialized lifting lugs (direct lifting of input/output shafts is prohibited) and slowly lift with a soft sling (such as nylon sling) above the foundation.
·Preliminarily adjust the position to roughly align the input/output shaft of the gearbox with the axis of the supporting equipment (such as the motor) (deviation ≤ 10 mm).
·Find the correct calibration:
·Rough alignment: Adjust the motor position so that the radial deviation between the motor shaft and the input shaft of the gearbox is ≤ 1 mm, and the end face deviation is ≤ 0.5 mm (measured preliminarily with a tape measure and a feeler gauge).
·Precision alignment: Using the "coupling alignment method", use a dial gauge to detect radial runout (≤ 0.05 mm) and end face runout (≤ 0.02 mm/m).
·If the deviation exceeds the standard, correct it by adjusting the gasket at the bottom of the motor (direct tapping of the equipment is prohibited).
·Tightening connection:
·Tighten the foundation bolts in a cross symmetrical manner according to the bolt specifications and tightening torque specified in the manual (for example, tighten the four bolts 2-3 times in the order of "diagonal → adjacent").
·After tightening, recheck the levelness and confirm that there is no change (if the deviation increases, loosen the bolt and readjust).
·Coupling installation:
·Clean the keyway and shoulder of the gearbox shaft and motor shaft (without burrs or oil stains).
·Heat the coupling half body to ≤ 120 ℃ (direct flame heating is prohibited) and then fit it onto the shaft, or apply lubricating oil and lightly tap it into place with a copper hammer.
·Install elastic components (such as rubber pads, nylon columns), connect the two halves of the coupling, and tighten the bolts to the required torque in the manual.
·Attachment installation:
·Install dust cover and input coupling safety cover (to be provided by the user).
·For H60 and above models, connect the supply and return pipes of the cooler (joint Rc1/2, pressure 0.15-0.3 MPa, temperature around 20 ℃).
3. Refueling and debugging
·Lubricating oil filling:
·Use medium load industrial gear oil (such as ISO VG 220 or 320), and choose high viscosity oil above 30 ℃.
·Add oil until the oil level is level with the lower end of the oil filling port thread. Do not overfill (causing oil temperature to rise or leak) or underfill (causing poor lubrication).
·Static inspection:
·Let it stand for 10-15 minutes and check if there is any leakage at the drain plug and oil seal. If there is any leakage, replace the seal or tighten the bolt.
·Dynamic debugging:
·Jogging motor: Confirm that the steering is consistent with the design (to avoid poor lubrication caused by reverse rotation), and there is no jamming or abnormal noise.
·No load operation: Start the motor and maintain the rated speed for 1-2 hours. Monitor:
·Temperature: Bearing temperature ≤ 80 ℃, oil temperature ≤ 60 ℃ (if exceeded, check oil level or heat dissipation).
·Vibration: The vibration speed of the box is ≤ 6.3 mm/s (in accordance with ISO 10816-3 standard).
·Sealing: Check that there is no leakage at the oil seal and drain plug.
·Gradual loading: Starting from 25% of the rated load, increase the load by 25% every 30 minutes of operation until full load, and continuously monitor temperature, vibration, and noise during this period.
·Full load operation: Run continuously for 4-8 hours, confirm no abnormalities, and record operating data (oil temperature, vibration value, current).
3、 Precautions
·Security protection:
·During lifting, only certified personnel are allowed to operate. It is prohibited to stand under the H-series right angle gearbox or within the lifting radius.
·Before power on debugging, confirm that the motor wiring is correct, there are no unrelated personnel around the gearbox, and set up warning signs.
·Operating standards:
·Do not remove the oil level gauge, vent cap, or touch rotating parts while operating the H-series right angle gearbox.
·After alignment, it is forbidden to move the gearbox or motor arbitrarily. If readjustment is required, it must be done accurately.
·Maintenance requirements:
·The torque of the anchor bolts should be checked regularly (once every quarter), and the sealing condition of the flanges should be checked once a month.
The flange installed H-series right angle gearbox needs to check the torque of the expansion disc every 2000 hours of operation to prevent loosening.
Finally, a friendly reminder that for H series right angle gearboxes, please be sure to consult professional manufacturers of right angle gearboxes (such as Hunan Perfect Industry Co.,Ltd.).
